Dr. Steven Philips, MD
When working with patients, I am dedicated to helping patients achieve or enhance their psychological well-being. In my practice, I use various forms of psychotherapy, such as supportive psychotherapy and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
When necessary, I prescribe medications to help patients, but am strongly against over-prescribing medications. I believe in finding an optimal dose of a medication that will make patients feel better, while minimizing the risk of side effects or medication interactions.
I earned my MD degree from the prestigious 6-year BA/MD program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. From there, I completed my psychiatry residency at the University of Washington where I was Chief Resident.
